Well, efficiency is actually more how you use it than stove design unless there's either a big design error or something special like the heat exchanger on a Jetboil.

The top things in efficiency are:
1. Protect from wind
2. Turn the dang stove down

The real determiner between the two might be cold weather. If your out much below freezing, get the WindMaster. If you're a fair weather backpacker, the Amicus should do.

HJHikin' Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01554269915148144573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4359823178932343980.post-21624391568963658042018-05-23T22:32:20.977-07:002018-05-23T22:32:20.977-07:00Thanks, Bill.

The Reactor is probably going to be more powerful and, wind resistant though the WindMaster may be, nothing compares to an MSR Reactor (or its close cousin the WindBurner).

The main benefit of the WindMaster would be lighter weight. It's also more versatile inasmuch as it simmers where a Reactor really doesn't. My pot is the Evernew 900ml Mug Pot, so either stove should fit in it. I like the 4 arm support on the Amicus, especially the way they are attached, but I also like the regulator on the Windmaster. I guess what it boils down to is which one is more efficient overall. If there wasn't a big difference in the two, I would probably pick the Amicus. What is your take on it, now that you have had both stoves for a while? I appreciate your time and effort you have put in to this site!
Thanks, GlenAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00465938457901500952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4359823178932343980.post-36579644851952548862017-09-03T12:27:09.215-07:002017-09-03T12:27:09.215-07:00I bought the soto amicus today just because of you...I bought the soto amicus today just because of your review. If you want to cook with larger pots and pans, then maybe the Windmaster (with the 4Flex option). If you do a lot of long duration simmering, then maybe the Windmaster (which has a regulator).
