Adventures in Stoving is typically about evaluating stoves, not about promoting sales, but a lot of people have expressed interest in the WindMaster, and this is as good of a deal as I've seen.
Please understand that I derive no percentage of the sales. There are no "affiliate links" or anything like that. This is just a good deal I noticed.

Cold weather testing the WindMaster. |
The Stove
It's no secret that I consider the Soto WindMaster to be the best quality upright canister stove on the market today. See my review of the Soto WindMaster. It's wind resistant in a way other stoves of this class just aren't (well, except for its budget minded cousin, the Amicus), and it's a good balance of versatility, efficiency, and weight. Not only that, it's just quality in every respect.
The Soto WindMaster |
There were rumors that Soto was going to discontinue distribution of the WindMaster in North America, but, no. I spoke to the Soto rep, and Soto has no plans to discontinue the WindMaster.
Simul-testing the WindMaster against a "control" stove. The WindMaster is at left. No matter the conditions, the WindMaster always came out ahead – while using less fuel. |

Hi Jim. Do you know if the Windmaster and pot supports with an MSR 110 gas canister will all fit in an Evernew 1.0 liter pasta pot?
ReplyDeleteI don't have a EV 1.0 L pasta pot, so I can't say for sure, but I think both should fit.

Hey Jim, love the time and effort you put into your articles! I had a quick question about the windmaster which I received today.
ReplyDeleteThe screw attachment at the bottom seems to be different on this stove compared to others (it doesn't have the protrusion at the bottom like my msr stove) and my "top & top" butane adapter isn't working on it, how would you recommend I work-around this provided I realllly want to use butane? Thanks.
What? Do you mean that there is no pin inside the threaded connector on the stove? If so, you got a defective one.
DeleteAre you on Facebook? Can you post a photo of the connection as a public post on the Adventures in Stoving Facebook page?

Any chance you will be writing an article on the new Soto Stormbreaker? Looks like an interesting multifuel stove, and would love to hear your thoughts on it.
ReplyDeleteMethinks you dont know the full story.
ReplyDeleteThe "regular" price you quoted is still a bargin considering it RETAILS at $134.99 at biviouc stores!
